“I’ve read the book. Was I disappointed that it was redacted? Of course. Was I disappointed in the overall message that Lt. Col. Shaffer hoped to put out there? Not at all. I was there. I worked with Tony. We’ve managed to stay in touch since then. What I read in the book matches up very well with my own recollections. Some missing parts were filled in, other situations have raised questions. But, overall, the redactions haven’t destroyed the intent I believe Tony was trying to offer the reader. Many of the reviews of this book are geared towards the government’s reaction. It’s your choice to purchase or not, but don’t go on a diatribe against the book or author until you’ve read it and have something upon which to base your review. Rather than roll over and give up, the author has moved forward and completed his mission. It’s the kind of guy Tony is.”
